Adoption Update, Feb 2006
Just a note about the current state of the adoption. The last we heard, in early January, our paperwork had been assembled and translated and was on the way to Panama. This means we are now just waiting for the Panamanian court system to review and approve us before we start to get referrals for a child. From what we hear, this waiting is the longest portion of the process.
Financially we have been very blessed thus far. We are very pleased to see the donations in the church fund, and we have been able to come up with large portions on our own. We are still in need of several thousand to finish up, though, so prayers in that area are appreciated.
Given that we have only been at work on this for 10 months, though, progress looks very good!

You have indeed been blessed…but this is just the beginning…the real blessing is somewhere in Panama, waiting for you two to go and get her and bring her home to her Nana!

We can’t wait! This is so exciting!! I hope that court system gets their rear in gear. It’s kinda strange to know your daughter (our niece!) is all the way out in Panama…somebody better go get her!

To my little granddaughter in Panama: I can’t wait to meet you! I can almost hear your sweet laugh and see your big, beautiful smile…just longing to know your name. There’s a whole family who loves you very, very much. Come be with us real soon. Love, Papa.

Good luck. The court system in Panama can be notoriusly slow, except when your getting married, thank goodness!
Unfortunately I don’t know any legal types in Panama to help you out, but I can still say a prayer and wish you luck!
